Confidential. Compassionate. No Appointment Needed
As many as 20 million new cases of sexually transmitted disease/infection (STD/STI) occur each year in the United States. In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that one in every five people in the United States has an STD.
At Emergency One Urgent Care, we offer confidential STD/STI rapid testing in a comfortable, judgment-free setting, with results in 30 minutes or less. An STD/STI is an infection spread by sexual contact that can cause long-term health problems. Sexually transmitted diseases and infections are most commonly spread during sexual activity, often without either person realizing it. However, they can also be transmitted through any exchange of bodily fluids, not just intercourse. Many times, STDs/STIs have no symptoms, making them easily transmitted to your partner(s).
Whether you are experiencing symptoms, or you are concerned that you might have been exposed to an STD, it is best to seek medical care right away. Common symptoms include abnormal discharge, burning while urinating, pain, or fever. Ideally, you should be tested within one to two weeks after an unprotected sexual encounter, with follow-up testing about 90 days later.
