• Talk with your provider. Ask questions about why you are taking the drug and ask what are the alternatives.
• Research your meds on your own. Look for unbiased results and research as to the effect and efficacy of your medications.
• Track all of your medications. Keep a log of what you take, the types of side effects you experience and the amount you take. Share this information with your provider on your next visit.

By taking these few steps, you’ll increase the safety of your drug regimen and help your provider in treating your chronic and acute conditions.
