New Masking Policies at Emergency One Urgent Care

By / May 8, 2023 / , / 0 Comments

At Emergency One Urgent Care, we are committed to keeping our patients and staff safe while providing exceptional care. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, we closely monitor the guidance provided by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to ensure our protocols align with the latest recommendations.

New Guidance and Adjustments: In light of declining transmission rates and increasing vaccination rates, the CDC has revised its guidelines regarding masking requirements. As of May 8th, the requirement for masks at Emergency One has been lifted. We welcome this positive development as it reflects the progress made in combating the spread of COVID-19.

  • Masking in Specific Scenarios: While the general masking requirement has been lifted, we still strongly recommend wearing masks in certain situations. These include:
  • Immunocompromised or vulnerable individuals: Patients with compromised immune systems or underlying health conditions may have a higher risk of contracting COVID-19. In these cases, wearing masks is advised for your own protection.
  • Patients showing COVID-19 or Flu symptoms: If you are experiencing symptoms such as cough, fever, or shortness of breath, we kindly request that you continue to wear a mask while visiting our healthcare facilities. This precaution helps safeguard other patients and our staff.

Emergency One Urgent Care remains dedicated to providing a safe environment for our patients and staff members. As the CDC updates its guidelines, we adapt our protocols accordingly to reflect the evolving situation. While masking requirements have been lifted, we encourage everyone to exercise caution and continue wearing masks in specific scenarios to protect the most vulnerable among us.

Please note that in the event of a resurgence in community transmission of COVID-19 or the Flu, reaching high or substantial levels as determined by the CDC, Emergency One Urgent Care reserves the right to reinstate mandatory masking requirements in the future. We closely monitor the situation and prioritize the health and safety of our patients and staff above all else. Rest assured that we will continue to follow the guidance provided by public health authorities and make necessary adjustments to our protocols to ensure a secure environment for everyone.

Remember, masking is a personal choice. We ask that all our patients respect the choices made by other patients and our staff.   By working together and following recommended guidelines, we can collectively contribute to the ongoing fight against COVID-19. Your safety and well-being remain our utmost priority.
